Short answer

macOS has no global microphone mute. Tuno mutes every input device with ⌃⌥⇧M or one click, and shows a red microphone in the menu bar while you’re muted.

Press ⌃⌥⇧M (or click Microphone in the Tuno panel).

macOS 15 or later, Mac with Apple silicon.

Frequently asked questions

Does it work in Zoom, Teams, Meet and FaceTime?

Yes. The microphone is muted at the system level, so every app hears silence.
